Feature Release 0.2.0

2 min readWritten by: The MIMICK Team

Peripheral drivers, sessions, telemetry charts, and real-time notifications.

What's new

  • Peripheral drivers. Drive GPIO and SPI through FTDI FT232H adapters, open serial consoles, and switch USB and ESPHome relay boards.
  • Sessions. Start, list, inspect, and end sessions from the CLI, so the work on a bench is grouped and attributed.
  • Peripheral logs. The session page logs every peripheral action. Search it, choose its columns, and download it as CSV.
  • Telemetry charts. Session and bench pages chart peripheral activity and the bench's own system status.
  • Telemetry from the CLI. mimick data queries recorded telemetry and accepts relative times as well as timestamps.
  • Bench logs from the CLI. Read a bench's system log, or follow it live.
  • Notifications. Real-time notifications in the web app, including an alert when a bench stops sending telemetry.
  • Audit coverage. Every change made through MIMICK, and every sign-in and sign-out, now lands in the audit log.
  • Org admin access. Org admins reach every bench in their organization without a separate grant.
  • Clean removal. Deleting a bench tells it to unenroll, even if it was offline when you deleted it.

Bug fixes

  • Telemetry fixes, so valid records are no longer dropped.
  • Sign-in and organization scoping fixes for embedded charts.
  • Fixes for bench access to USB adapters.
