Feature Release 0.9.7

2 min readWritten by: The MIMICK Team

Full UART control: streaming, control lines, multi-channel FTDI adapters, and an RFC 2217 tunnel.

What's new

  • UART streaming. Stream a UART in both directions at once.
  • Multi-channel FTDI. Use every channel of FT2232H and FT4232H adapters, including as UARTs.
  • Control lines. Drive DTR and RTS, send a break, and change serial settings without closing the port.
  • UART tunnel. mimick uart tunnel serves a bench UART over RFC 2217, so local serial tools can use it.
  • UART data. mimick uart write, read, and transfer move bytes from the command line.
  • Names, not flags. Address relay channels and GPIO pins by name, and pass the peripheral name as an argument.
  • Cancel a run. Stop a runbook run while it's in flight.
  • Task messages. mimick task info, warn, and error stand out in the grouped run view.
  • Bridges in the inventory. Ports that belong to a bridge show as in use and sit under the bridge.

Bug fixes

  • UART bytes are no longer lost between a write and a read.
  • ESPHome relay boards switch and report state correctly.
  • Duplicate relay channel and GPIO pin names are rejected.
  • Wi-Fi radios are named in the order they appear.
  • Security updates to third-party dependencies.
